India vs Pak 2nd One Day - Sehwag and Dhoni combined blitz steers India to a thumping win

India vs Pakistan 2nd One Day
India - 356 / 9 in 50 overs
Pakistan - 298/a.o.

India registered a comfortable 58 run victory over Pakistan in the 2nd One Day match. India piled on 356 runs thanks to the blitzkrieg by Sehwag and Dhoni. Sehwag scored a swashbuckling 74 of 40 balls and Dhoni smashed his maiden century and went on to score 148 of just 123 balls. Sehwag is on a honeymoon run and he is in the thick of runs whenever gets into the pitch. Dravid played a supporting role to notch up another half century. Pakistan bowlers were on a leather hunt and the worst hit was Afridi who gave away 82 runs in his 9 overs. The Indian tail wagged too resulting in a mammoth 356 runs on the board.

Pakistan had to get everything right to chase and were doing well at times. Youhana and Razzaq made valiant efforts but chasing such a big total was never going to be easy. Finally Pakistan succumbed and were all out for 298 runs. In fact until Youhana was out trying to accelerate the run rate, Pakistan was very much in the game. The Indian bowlers had an easy outing given 356 runs to defend. The match truly belonged to the youngster Dhoni! Well - it may be too early - but is he the answer to the keeper-batsman India was hunting for?!?
